Rumah Aman's education program is a continuous learning of life skills based on the Quran and the Sunna of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and integrated with the knowledge of the time.
This continuous learning is for all who are associated with Rumah Aman, whether permanent staff or volunteers, because they will be the role models for the children to follow as the maxim goes "children copy adults".
This pattern of learning is paramount because only then will the children have a strong foundation in the Deen of Islam as well as a basis for them to be victorious in this world and in the hereafter.
The education program of Rumah Aman is called I-SMART.
I-SMART
The teaching of Islam is integral in everything that we do, therefore the children will be instructed in its foundations to help them understand its importance and in turn inculcate good habits, strengthens character and personality, insya Allah.
I-SMART is the acronym for:
IMAN - as stated in the Pillars of Iman is the believe in Allah, in the Prophets, in the Angels, in the Kitabs (Books), in Qada and Qadar and in the Day of Judgment. It also teaches Muslims about the ghaib (unseen world) and Taqwa.
SOLAT - the Pillars of Ibadah and the reference for good adab. Making wudhu is a practice of being clean always and a reminder of preferred order. With solat comes the remembrance of Allah s.w.t, the discipline of keeping time and the importance leading and following with correct knowledge.
MUHASABAH - Is the practice of correcting oneself continuously and consistently as man is not perfect but aims to be perfect in his lifetime by taking on the behaviour of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) and guidance from the Quran.
ACCOUNTABILITY - Is the preferred right actions with Allah s.w.t and with mankind. All actions, either right or wrong, have a cause and effect that will be attributed to the doer, therefore the doer must have a clear mind and clear understanding of his/hoer intentions and actions.
RESPONSIBILITY - Is the awareness that man is the Khalifah of Allah. Man is using borrowed attributes of Allah s.w.t therefore all decisions and actions which impinge on the lives of all creatures must be for the pleasure of Allah s.w.t and within His guided parameters.
TAQWA - Is Having the fearful awareness of Allah in the soul, body, desires and mind.
I-SMART inculcates values based on Islamic teachings of Iman, Solat, Muhasabah, Accountability, Responsibility and Taqwa as living skills for the children under its care and becomes a guide for the teachers, staff and volunteers who are involved with Rumah Aman.
It is hoped that with these living skills, the children will grow and mature into adults who have fear and love for s.w.t and love for the Holy Prophet s.a.w (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) so that they will have the goodness of this world and victory in the hereafter, insya Allah.
I-SMART gives priority to teaching good adab (courteous behaviour) within the ambit of ibadah abd social behaviour and with that patterning, instil good character and strong personalities so that they may later serve society to the best of their abilities for the pleasure of Allah.
